Henderson County Schools 2022- 2023 State Assessment Data Available for Review
The Kentucky Department of Education has released the Spring 2023 state assessment data from the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA). These assessments are Kentucky’s measure of student proficiency and progress on the state content standards. These standards establish goals for what all students should know and be able to do in each grade.
“Student achievement is a team effort. Together, our staff, our families, our Board of Education, and our community have made the mission of providing extraordinary opportunities for every student a reality. Our achievement data is outstanding and something everyone in our community can be proud of. I am pleased with each of our schools’ growth and improvement. Last year we introduced a “ships” theme across the district that includes partnerships, leadership, relationships, and this year we added ownership. The test scores are a reflection of our ships being aligned and all of the hard work put in each day. We have highlights to celebrate from our test scores and we have areas where we will continue the pursuit of excellence. ” Dr. Bob Lawson, Superintendent of Henderson County Schools.

We are very pleased with the growth shown in the ACT composite. The 2023 composite score of 19.7 is .9 above the 2022 ACT composite of 18.8. ACT considers an increase of .1 as marked improvement. As such, the .9 jump represents significant growth.
HCHS Postsecondary Readiness
Postsecondary Readiness is the attainment of the necessary knowledge, skills, and dispositions for a student to successfully transition to the next level of his or her educational career, whether that be pursuit of college coursework and/or entry into the workforce. Kentucky’s Postsecondary Readiness Indicator includes a demonstration of ONE academic/career-readiness component. Students may demonstrate academic/career readiness in multiple ways.
Our high school CTE unit plays an integral part in our Postsecondary Readiness Indicator by offering 27 CTE pathways to our students.
