Ensuring a safe environment for our students and staff is a top priority in Henderson County Schools. As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, we would like to inform you that, beginning in December, the Henderson Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office K-9 units will periodically be present in our middle schools, Henderson County High School, and Central Academy as a proactive measure to help maintain a drug-free environment and reinforce school safety.
Please note that these checks will be conducted with respect for student privacy, focusing solely on public spaces such as hallways, lockers, and common areas. The dogs will not interact directly with students, and staff will be present throughout each inspection to ensure a smooth and respectful process.
We want to emphasize that this is a safety measure and no immediate concern or incident is prompting this action; it is simply a reflection of our dedication to keeping our schools as safe as possible.
