Colonels’ Corner Bank (CCB) has once again gone above and beyond to support the community during the holiday season, raising $23,729.80 through its annual Turkey of the Year contest. The funds will provide Christmas gifts for 60 children in need through the Adopt-a-Family at Christmas program with the Volunteer Information Center of Henderson. Additionally, leftover funds went towards purchasing pies and fruits for the Salvation Army’s annual Thanksgiving dinner.
The contest, which ran from November 11 to November 25, saw incredible participation from students and staff. Kate Bailey and Addison Davenport led the charge, raising $4,054.19, while Zehn Hazelwood and Chloe Bugg each turned in $2,618.00. Among the teachers, Mr. Sprague and Mr. Braden Urban raised $1,030.63 and $305.12, respectively.
As a special celebration, Mrs. Grace, CCB’s advisor, along with two bank members, will shave their heads on December 20th to honor their promise if $20,000 or more was raised.
The Colonels’ Corner Bank extends its gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this event, making the holiday season brighter for children and families in need.
