Spottsville Elementary School
The new two-story school will be located to the east of the existing school. It will have a traditional schoolhouse look with a small cupola reminiscent to the original Spottsville school.
The new school will be elevated and built outside of the flood plain.
Codell Constuction Company is managing the project.
The total construction cost estimate is $14,522,681. The total project cost estimate is $16,999,705.05.
An official groundbreaking ceremony occurred on December 13th, 2016.
We are anticipating the construction to be complete by August 2018.
The existing school will be torn down.
Features of the new school include:
A modern media center with innovative technology features, which will serve as the heart of the school located near the front entrance
A spacious gymnasium with a stage to allow for a variety of uses
A separate bus and Parent pick up/ drop off vehicle pathways and parking to accommodate over 200 cars
Maximum use of natural sunlight and energy efficiency throughout the school
Geothermal HVAC System
Accommodate 700 students, 30 classrooms, an art/music room, two computer labs and four resource rooms with a total of 76,796 sq. feet
